Forecasted nor’easter never

came in May

left with an empty square

oscillating silence is in your ears

Your outstretched fist

yawned open

palm’s belly up naked by

a dream of fingertips’ touch

There, she rests her head on brick mosaic

laps in mind’s

eyes with hints of relief

Your effort to cease and desist the sky

was only white blankets and

driftwood-deco walls

You embraced the named storm

she finally came to you, erased,

because you too are coming home alone,

Providence in December.
